Hey, it’s Luna. It means “moon” in Spanish. It’s no wonder that tagline up there says something about flying to the moon.
There are too many Imagination Islands out there. So that’s why this is an igloo. After all, can’t you just see smoke coming out of that chimney over there? If you’re wondering why those ice cubes won’t melt, it’s because they’re inert. In the wonderful world of blogging, ice cubes can be inert. But it’s still a little cold out there. I do hope you didn’t forget to wear your warm parka.
The Imagination Igloo used to be on Blogger, but now it’s on WordPress. I post basically anything that comes from my imagination! If you think imagination is for little kids only, then no, it is not. We need our imaginations. Imagination goes much farther–beyond daydreaming of pink fluffy unicorns dancing on rainbows and old time machines that can be auctioned off at Antiques Roadshow. This is not a more sophisticated revamp of Barney. We need imaginations so that we can be creative, which can be the peanut butter for the gum stuck in the hair. How do you think Steve Jobs got famous? Creativity is always for the win here at the Imagination Igloo. You’ll find short snippets of stories, art, things I like, and a few hopefully persuasive rants about how to make this world a good world. 😛
While you’re here, I suggest you go check out the Igloog (Igloo Blog). News and thoughts are located inside there. If you’d like to post responses and comment on my posts, I encourage you to do so with gusto! Just remember that this place is not a place to seek publicity or to post inappropriate stuff. Check out the comment guidelines if you haven’t read them.
Now go and explore the Imagination Igloo!
All the best to you 😉

Hello,
You let me include some of your words in a book, and I’m super excited and so glad to announce to you that Fall in Love with Writing is published!!!!!!!
Yay, it’s available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B019CDRZXA?%2AVersion%2A=1&%2Aentries%2A=0
It’s only available as an ebook as I don’t have the resources to print hard copies any time soon.
I didn’t want to wait and do nothing and I’m not looking for the perfect best-selling book; I’m just learning as I go and doing what I can now.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a Kindle, the Kindle Cloud Reader is free and allows you to read Kindle books (I don’t think it’s compatible with Android platforms though). I’m looking at making it available through Google Play and as a pdf too.
Thank you so much for letting me include your words. I really hope you love the book!!!
Let me know what you think of it and any ways I could improve it. And if you have the time to leave a review on the Amazon page, that would be awesome. And to keep updated with everything, please like my writer’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/junidesireewriter/
Look forward to perhaps working with you on a sequel one day – hehe!

Hi Luna! Just found your blog via some daily post comment.
I write this blog called That Girl With The Spectrespecs. (I am not promoting my blog here, just wanted to share this thing. If u feel like I am violating your commandments of comment feel free to disapprove.) The blog name is based on one of my favorite characters Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series. She has an unusual way of looking at the world. So, it seems, do you.
I take inspiration from her.
It was nice seeing another Luna 🙂
Cheers!

Hi! If this is about Blogging 201 or Blogging 101 then I’m okay with it. I do know about Luna Lovegood and realize that we are very similar, but this is pure coincidence. 😉 Nice talking to you!

Yes it was blogging 101.
Love coincidences 😀

Did you originally sign up for Blogging 201 but then had to switch to Blogging 101? I’ve only been blogging since September 2013 on WordPress, and blogging since July 2013 on Blogger. I guess I’m new too, but I already took up Blogging 101.

I am not sure. Posts from both 101 and 201 show up in my reader. I don’t always keep up with them.

May be Date widget will lead me to your recent posts but to a new visitor, it is not clear where to go for your recent post. …so Recent Posts widget is more important than other widgets. It is my personal opinion though.

New visitors should be able to figure out where to access my posts when they read my “About the Imagination Igloo”.

Many people go to blogs after seeing the posts in their reader. but when they do so..they will not find the new post on your blog but it is my point of view only.
By the way I had checked your posts by clicking the date in your calender widget.

Logically speaking, new visitors would have to read the welcome page first before anything else. Please read more carefully, but I’m sorry I didn’t put up the directions sooner. Good thing I put up the calendar widget sooner, though.

To be honest, I like your static page.
It is very nice and helps to navigate to other pages.

Luna you need to do something about your blog.
I saw your posts in my reader but when I visit your site then I can not find your recent posts.
You want to keep a static page on your blog and that is fine but then may be you can use ….Recent posts widget for people who want to read your recent posts.
Categories on the right side of your blog …..don’t immediately point to your “Recent Posts.”
Regards.

The static page provides directions to the posts. No offense, but please read it again. Put your cursor over the “About the Imagination Igloo” page directly under the header and click on “Igloog (Igloo Blog)”. I did realize this problem so I wrote directions to the posts on the static landing page.

Hey nice blog. Question: assuming ‘blogger’ is another blog site why did you move? Is there that much difference? Hope you don’t mind me asking, I’m just curious.
LikeLike
Blogger is also known as Blogspot, now powered by Google. I moved because WordPress is more sophisticated and has more options without twisting the HTML and CSS. All the while at Blogger I was trying to get a static landing page and all fancy templates, which required tweaking code, and I had a headache saying, “What am I doing!?” Google “wordpress vs blogger” to get full insight on it. That’s why I moved.

thank you Luna! And yeah, I think sailing and imagination are related, there are SO many people who have become famous who were sailors in their past.

No, I meant something else. You know how they link the anchor with imagination and how some people view imagination like someone sailing on a ship? That’s what I meant.

Oh, OK, I never really thought of it that way. I do know that we have a lot of time spent by ourselves out here to think. It does bring out the imagination.
