Happy birthday to the World Wide Web (aka the Internet)

Today is the World Wide Web’s twenty-fifth birthday–can you believe that? Time has really passed…but then again, the WWW is just twenty-five. Pretty young age for something like that.

I remember using a really old computer that looked very similar to the first web server Tim Berners-Lee used (he is the inventor of the Internet). It looked like this:

All the programs there were very slow; the Internet was no exception. They took forever to load. But with the Internet, suddenly things that never seemed possible become possible. People’s imaginations grow; they can create and share information. Just like I am to people who don’t know that the Internet turned twenty-five today.

Happy birthday to WWW!
