Attention all Blogspotters! So, you want to use a template from Blogger Candy instead of the default templates Blogger offers? Well, you might have noticed the tutorial on how to install the templates and use it on your blog is outdated as of 2013, since Blogger has updated their look and features. Don’t worry, you can still use the Blogger Candy templates! Here’s how.
- Once you download your desired template, unzip the file by right-clicking on it and clicking on Extract All.
- Sign in to your blog.
- Click on Template. At the top right corner notice the words Backup/Restore; click on that.
- There will be an option to “Choose File” (the template) from your media library. Click on the template file, now unzipped. Then click on the word “template” which is an XML file. DO NOT UPLOAD THE WHOLE FILE FOLDER AS THIS WILL CAUSE AN ERROR! While reading the comments, I noticed that many people said that it didn’t work, but I think Sharnee might not have been very clear with the instructions, so they made the mistake of uploading the whole file folder. I did this and Blogger said it could only handle XML files, so I tried uploading just the “template” file in the folder. It worked.
So now, you should have an awesome looking blog using the template. Yay!
Don’t forget to check out my Blogger blog in which I used one of Sharnee’s templates:
